The 3-3-3 Rule is for the first 3 days, the first 3 weeks, and the first 3 months. It is a guideline that helps to ensure the stability of the dog as it transitions into a new environment, which can be very stressful. The first 3 days should be strictly at home with no visitors to allow for basic acclimation. Expect anxiety and diarrhea. Over the next 3 weeks gradually, and carefully, begin to carefully take on leashed only walks, and begin to introduce to friends and family (if approve by K-9 Elite Rescue). The next 3 months are all about the dog settling in to its new life. Not all fosters stay this long, but some do - and some for even longer. Report any behavior issues along the way to K-9 Elite Rescue.
